Sirius Passet

A Sirius Passet ( dan . Siriuspasset ) a Piri-földi félszigeten ( Grönlandtól északra , az Északi-sarktól 804 km-re) a kambrium kori kövületek legnagyobb lelőhelye . A helyet 1984-ben A. Higgins, a Grönlandi Geológiai Szolgálat munkatársa fedezte fel.( Dan . Grønlands Geologiske Undersøgelse ). Ezt követően négy expedíciót indítottak ezen a területen - 1989-ben, 1991-ben, 1994-ben és 2006-ban [1] . A Sirius Passet lelőhelyek korát 518 millió évre becsülik.

A Sirius Passet állatvilága

Jelenleg körülbelül 25 fosszilis fajt írtak le hivatalosan, és körülbelül ugyanennyi faj vár leírásra [1] [2] . A legelterjedtebb formák a nem mineralizált borítású ízeltlábúak [2] .
