A Leptoteuthis gigas  (latinul) a lábasfejű puhatestűek  fosszilis faja a Vampyromorpha rendbe. A Leptoteuthis nemzetség és a Leptoteuthididae család egyetlen faja . A főként gladiusról ismert lágyszöveti lenyomatok őrződnek a solnhofeni mészkőben [1] .
